Every year when we’re halfway through the harvest, things get a very special energy.  Having come this far, you feel like you‘ve reached the 30 km mark in a marathon. You’re exhausted, your feet are killing you and at the same time you know exactly that there is still plenty more to come . The 4 am alarm-clock is in serious danger of being thrown out of the window and when you fall into your bed late at night, you already know that there are not enough hours left to get the sleep you need.

Strangely, this is when the fresh energy kicks in.

At this point you realize that things are going smoothly, everybody knows exactly what to do and you appreciate that whole team is giving their best to make things work. There is a joint mission and it feels good to be part of it. The soothing coffee breaks with bad jokes and heartfelt laughter, lunches with big pots and pans filled with hearty food, the vineyard tours with the kids to check on the grapes, friends coming by in the evening for a glass of „Sturm“, the fresh early morning air and the picture perfect sunsets make up for all the hard work.

We wouldn’t trade this job for anything else.
